Deck Builders – Roof Installation – Door Flashing
The original deck builders leaking door problem was caused by improper rubber roof installation door flashing at the threshold of the sliding glass door, the first picture show the door threshold is flush with the deck, and there is nothing to stop water from entering into the home when cracks in the caulking occur from the original installation of the door.
This picture shows the deck is at the same height as the threshold of the sliding glass door, the correct way to prevent any threshold from leaking is to raise it above the height of any foreseeable water problems.
The door has been removed and we are installing rubber roofing around entire frame of door next to decking.
Rubber roof installation door flashing
We are installing a new door sill approximately 5” higher than deck.
Rubber roof installation door flashing is installed on the entire new and old sill all the way down to existing rubber roof and sealed.
Rubber roof installation door flashing is completed on new door sill.
New door is installed over Rubber roof installation door flashing and floor deck will be installed well below threshold.
Rubber roof installation door flashing has been installed job complete.
